POEMSOUNDS - HAV 100 1972 George Harrap & Co ltd LP lyn 3132 UK pressing
Music by John Lewis Organ Piano
Nick Harrison Violin Recorders ( who I believe was the String arranger on the Rolling Stones Goat Heads Soup
Stuart Pollack Guitar
Peter Rooke Percussion
An LP designed to aid the teaching of Poetry in Middle Schools from the early 70s - thoroughly odd in places - With strange freaky folk passages and dark undercurrents . Even in the early 70s I’m guessing this could have made for a fairly disturbing English lesson .
Possibly used in detention for particularly troublesome pupils .
Similar perhaps to The Barrow Poets curious LPs on ARGO or the Drama Workshop /BBC radiophonic Workshop The seasons LP - There is a touch of the Wicker Man soundtrack or Children of the stone / Owl Service Childrens 70s TV shows .There is a soundclip on the rather fine toys and techniques Blog site.
